Writer's Ennui & New Computers

It will get up, honestly it will! I was hoping to have this week's The Shadows of Sicily up tonight, and I may still manage it, but we just got a new computer so now I am having to wait while it installs my writing program before I can make any progress.

Not that it feels like I'm making much progress lately. It's not exactly writer's block, more writer's ennui - I don't feel like writing. It's boring - I'm bored with the writing, I'm bored with the story, and the story keeps taking these weird, and very long, detours so that it feels as if it is going nowhere extremely slowly.

Some of that is because I'm a pantser - as in I write by the seat of my pants with whatever inspiration strikes. There's no detailed outline. There are a few events that are supposed to happen, but none of them have actually happened yet. Well, except the one in Chapter Two. This makes it hard for me to just push through since I'm not always certain where I'm pushing through to.

I'm thinking of dropping to posting every two weeks. We'll see. I'm still hoping to post something this week & next week, but there won't be any post on the 18th as we have three days of Olympic hoopla to attend and I doubt I'll have energy for writing.

In other news, I now have a desktop to write on! I've been writing with the laptop on the desktop table and hooked up to the desktop keyboard, because using the laptop keyboard makes my wrists hurt. It's new and shiny, and taking forever to install Pages. But maybe the new and shiny will inspire me to play with it more.

One can only hope.

Also, our very own dear, darling Jan Oda mentions Antonius in her recent blog about bad boys.

Teaser for this week:
I decided to take it as a compliment, it would help keep me from beating Antonius where he stood.
