Official Hiatus

Hey all!

So, there's sort of been an unofficial hiatus since, uh, May. I managed to get something up for May and June, but didn't have any luck in July.

Now I am going to officially declare hiatus (though, oddly, today I feel like writing something).

Why? Because any time now - or the end of this month - I am going to have baby #2 and will therefore be kind of busy. Hopefully I'll be able to do stuff sporadically once I get used to things, but that will depend on the new one's temperament, and how #1 reacts once #2 is actually here.

Bit 11

There was a round of hugging, followed by Mark silently smiling as he shoveled oatmeal down. Czajka and Parker chatted with Jonah getting all the particulars out of the way.

“At the post-Equinox market, then?” Jonah confirmed. “We’ll bring him along with the rest of the trade goods.” There was a grin plastered across his face as he said it, and Mark rolled his eyes with the wisdom of a son.

Parker looked at Czajka who shrugged, then nodded. “’Sabout right,” Czajka said. “A bit early, but better that than being snowed in.”

Chapter 15: Claudia and the Roman

He came precisely when Fabricius said. It was fortunate I awoke early that evening, for it meant I was truly ready for his arrival. Bathed, scented, and dressed in a deep red stola that showed only the tops of my breasts, this time.

NaPoWriMo Poem #30 - All Good Things

All Good Things (rondeau)

An ending comes to all good things
Replete with veil and wedding rings
And when it comes we start anew
To our old selves we bid adieu
Yet as it begins, something sings

The circle closes on the wing
A fresh new dawn, a budding spring
Though each element will renew
An ending comes

The pendulum always swings
It's scythe held up on fraying strings
That balance point a blink of blue
Humming an illusion shatt'ring hue
And when they fall, the mind rings
An ending comes

NaPoWriMo Poem #29 - Swing Sorrow

Swing Sorrow (clerihew)

The monkey girl
sobs that her swing must whirl!
'Cause her dad didn't mention
he had other intentions.

NaPoWriMo Poem #28 - Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday

It is not the first of May
But it's nonetheless a special day
For once - each year I reminisce
On whether the pile is more or less
Less, it seems, is the default now
When I don't know, but as for how
The tale's filled with normality
And nothing special that is me
But this year writing has had some time
A little thing that's only mine
And little things are just the way
To make each one a happy day.

NaPoWriMo Poem #27 - Without Training Wheels

Without Training Wheels

The day will come so soon
When she rides with freedom
A purple streak goes by
Pedals rattling, legs pump
The world will grow smaller
Training wheels tossed aside
Another step without me
Soon - but not today

NaPoWriMo Poem #26 - Big Bang Poem

Big Bang Poem

Sitting on the left side
Heat just right
Every single Monday
Leaves me wanting more
Drama at the Uni
Or in the living room
Nerd jokes galore
Chickens in a vaccum
Or on the Mobius strip
OCD or Aspergers
Personified by Spock
Each moment has me going
Rrrrrrrrr

NaPoWriMo Poem #25 - My Friend

My Friend (limerick)

There was once a lady named Laura
Whose heart was all made of angora
Her inner-geek she denied
Tongue stuck out and replied,
'I'm not really so much of a bore-a!'

(Love you, Laura, really! Laughing out loud )

NaPoWriMo Poem #24 - Left Behind

Left Behind

Up the stairs and to the left, it stands
Black, ornate, Japanese
The doors inlaid with scenery
Too tall for our living room
