Today (ghazal)

The muse stands blocked within my brain today,
The poem will not be declaimed today.

Sunshine and birds and rumbling garbage trucks
Have spotted my world in vain today.

Garbage pile unfinished, removed early
Those end tables went unclaimed today.

My only outside - the fresh back yard swing
Causing an excited child again today.

Gray cold makes way for sunny days ahead
At least there was no April rain today.
