Happy Birthday

It is not the first of May
But it's nonetheless a special day
For once - each year I reminisce
On whether the pile is more or less
Less, it seems, is the default now
When I don't know, but as for how
The tale's filled with normality
And nothing special that is me
But this year writing has had some time
A little thing that's only mine
And little things are just the way
To make each one a happy day.
